Decal Junky Mascots

Posted by Suzanne Thomas on Jun 10th 2018

We love our dogs at Decal Junky! So much in fact that we have made our two Chihuahuas Scooter the older one and Penney the baby along with Allison's English Bulldog Remington that she brings to work with her most days our mascots.

They don't pull much weight around here but they sure do provide plenty of love and entertainment. Actually they are a bunch of lazy bums but we love 'em like family.

Scooter is getting on up in years and tries her best to teach the baby Penney good manners but Penney is such a hoodlum and wants no part of it. Remi and Penney are best buddies. They are together all the time and Scooter is constantly trying to prove she is the boss and again, neither Remi nor Penney give her the respect she demands. I think that is why she sleeps so much, just to heck with them both.

Remi enjoys watching squirrel videos on the computer and will sit in front of the computer for as long as we allow them to play. That confuses Penney, she doesn't understand what it is Remi is so excited about. You have to watch Remi though, she will try to jump into the computer screen when she gets excited.

Remi is on a diet, her people developed a bad habit of sharing too much, now we feel terrible and try to eat when she isn't around. But just let one of us go in the kitchen and open the refrigerator or rattle a dish and here she comes with her collar jingling, Jingle Jangle is one of her nicknames.

They all three have nicknames, we call Scooter "Boot" and Penny "Hank" (short for Hanky Panky) I know Hank is a name for a boy but it sure fits her personality. People laugh when we tell them her name is Penney but we call her Hank.

Penney is a rescue and is the most loving and accepting of all living things. Another nickname she has is "Lickey Mouse" because she kisses everybody and everything. She even kissed a  donkey once. She is truly a little cartoon and has certainly livened things up around here.

We sell a lot of dog decals and have met so many people and heard many funny dog stories. Some are hilarious and some make us cry. We would love to hear your dog stories too. Our dogs are one of the best joys in our lives. Penney is laying here next to me while I type this. When she wants me to stop working on the computer she climbs up on my chest between me and the computer and stares straight up at the ceiling with her big 'ol ears twitching back and forth.

We moved out in an area where we have a lot of wildlife and Penney has made friends with the deer. I don't think they really know what she is as she is so small, they look confused but they know she is friendly and actually try to play with her. We have to keep a close eye on them at all times outside due to the hawks and fox that wander up in the yard. She especially enjoys running towards the raccoons when they are on the bird feeder, they run up the nearby tree and sit on a low limb and look at her like "why don't you just go back inside so we can eat." She runs around and around the tree sniffing with her tail straight up. Now wouldn't that be a sight to see for a coon hunter.

Allison just recently had several baby chickens hatch and Remi is in Heaven. She stays right beside them resting her chin watching every move they make. She must think they are her babies because she is so attentive to them. Remi is so lazy sometimes Allison comes in without her in the mornings. She says Remi just would not get up so she had to drive back out and get her at lunch.

All three of our dogs have what we call the SAD disorder...Separation Anxiety Disorder. If we leave for just a few minutes to go to the mailbox you would think we had been gone for days.

There is nothing more rewarding than the love of a dog. We certainly love all three of ours.
